Merseyside Derby Foul Tips

Merseyside turns hostile when Liverpool and Everton clash, and the fouls usually fly. This derby isn’t about pretty football – it’s about territory, tackles, and who can rattle who first. Yellow cards are tradition, late challenges are expected, and tempers rarely survive 90 minutes.

Liverpool vs Everton has seen more red cards than any other Premier League fixture. The sides last met in February in what was a feisty affair at Goodison Park. A controversial late Everton equaliser brought handbags at the end and led to red cards for both Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucouré. Doucouré celebrating in front of the away end didn’t go down too well – a fantastic sight for the neutral. This should add another layer of tension to Wednesday nights clash.

Both have fairly fit squads with Trent Alexander Arnold the main absentee for Liverpool. Conor Bradley is also carrying a knock which will leave Jarell Quansah deputising at RB. Calvert Lewin remains absent for Everton which should see Beto lead the line again. He’s found form under Moyes and has 4 goals in his last 7 league appearances.

The first bet revolves around Liverpool doing most of the kicking. Szoboszlai’s record speaks for itself. The Hungarian has made a foul in in 20/22 league appearances and will be spear heading Liverpool’s aggressive midfield press.

As mentioned earlier Quansah will be starting at right back. The natural Centre half doesn’t exactly look comfortable when shifted out right and turns like a bus. He has started two games at right back making 2 fouls in each appearance. A 48-minute cameo at right back vs PSG saw him make another 2. He should be opposing the tricky Jack Harrison who draws about 1.19 fouls per 90 minutes himself.

Following on from the first bet, Szoboszlai looks good to make 2+ fouls. He has made 2+ in 4 of his last 5 when playing 60+ and will be opposing Idrissa Gueye who is no stranger to flopping in front of the ref. He has drawn 1.19 fouls per 90 including two in the reverse fixture.

Beto is a nice addition to the longshot for a lovely price of 5.86. The 6 foot 4 brute loves bulldozing his way through defences and drawing fouls in the process. It will be his job to try and drag Everton up the pitch. Across all his minutes this season he has drawn a steady 1.67 fouls per 90. Liverpool made a massive 20 fouls in the reverse fixture so we will hopefully have plenty of chances to land these selections.
